Okay, it's probably because I grew up on the beach. Every day, all day. My summers were spent on the beach. And if I wasn't there, I was at my best friend since birth's house swimming in her pool, all day, or swimming laps at swim team practice and meets. So when I say I was a tan kid, I don't mean, has a little bit of a tan. I mean, my skin was a good 8 shades darker by the end of the summer - which contrasted nicely with my so blonde it was white hair.
Anyway, to the point. I have a slight love of tan lines. There's nothing I love more than coming home from the beach, taking a shower (the smell of beach in the shower is a WHOLE OTHER slight love post), and seeing a good set of tan lines from that day. I know, the sun in gracious amounts is awful for your skin, and raises the chances of skin cancer like a 234934.234234%. I struggle with this all the time. I don't want premature wrinkles, or skin cancer. I've already had 8 moles removed on my back from too much sun to test for skin cancer. Yet still, there's nothing like a good tan. (BTW - I don't mean Snookie orange, I mean a real beach tan.)
That being said. Kids, wear your sunscreen.
Now, off to let the world admire my lovely shorty wetsuit and Teva sandal tan lines from work today.
Beach You To It.

My Slight Love of Late Nights.
I love late nights. I love being out late, or sitting in my room on my computer late talking to people on the computer. And it's not because I'm not a morning person - actually, I'm one of those too. It's like I got stuck with both, and because of it, I often find myself not getting enough sleep.
Late nights are exciting, relaxing, loud, and quiet all at once (obviously depending on what you're up to that night). And at the same time, there's something slightly rebelistic about them. (I just invented that word, and I love it.) I mean, I'm an adult. I'm 21, I live 1,056 miles away from my parents, and yet, I still feel that slight tension of excitement and rebellion when I look at the clock in the middle of the night and see it creep past 1 AM, 2 AM, 3 AM...
To this day, I've never pulled an all-nighter (yes, I am lame), but I have a feeling it might happen sometime in the near future (with a new internship that has extreme hour shifts starting tomorrow). And I don't know if all nighters will make it onto my list of slight loves, but for now, I'm at least going to embrace the clock, which is currently reading 1:11 AM.

Slight Love Series
Like I've said before, I tend to go head first into everything that mildly interests me.
When I find something I like, I fall in love with it.
I'm head over heels more than I'm not, and because of that I've decided to start a "slight love" series, giving me the opportunity to talk about things that I'm slightly in love with, which in reality means I've fallen head over heels in love with. And these things could be anything from my favorite Disney attraction, to my favorite sports team, to the way I love to put my TV dinners in real bowls before I eat them.
So here we go, welcome to my over obsessed mind.

Periods are a very necessary part of punctuation.
I mean, right? They provide the ending to a thought so you can start a new one.
Consider the following.
This week is the last week of my summer.
Next week begins my fall internship, the third internship I'll be completing this year.
Plans after that? I have no idea. I mean, I have my "ideas", but everything's up in the air - which is pretty much how my life has been the past year now. And now I'm about to start the internship I've been working towards this whole time. WOW. Exactly a year ago I decided to apply for my first internship, working towards this one, and exactly a year later, it's about to start. WOW (yes, two wows were necessary).
So this week I'm going to wrap up this sentence and get ready for a whole new one. BRING IT.

Perspective.
I feel like school teaches you a lot about perspective growing up, but you don't really grasp it completely until you're older (or maybe it's just me having a blonde moment). I remember learning about perspective and point of view in English classes - 1st person, 3rd person, etc. Depending on the POV, the entire story can take on a new light. And then we also took perspective into account in my high school art classes, drawing objects from different angles, knowing how things would look from various view points, etc. So why is it just recently that I've realized how important perspective is in your own life?
It was tonight, as my roommate, our friend "K", and I were analyzing what I'll call the "XYZ Situation" for now (I'll explain in a later blog, pinky promise) that I realized perspective is SO important. It changes EVERYTHING!!!! The way you see people, places, events. It all plays out different depending on your perspective, and the "spin type". Positive spin, negative spin, neutral spin (the hardest to accomplish, no doubt. Let's face it, we're all usually biased one way or the other).
EXAMPLE? I'd love to.
TOPIC: Hair Dryers. (Thank you, LR for the topic.)
PERSPECTIVE: 1st person (my POV), SPIN TYPE: Negative.
GO.
Hair dryers are noisy machines that hurt when you drop them on your foot. They make my hair frizzy and afro-like, and take for-ev-er to dry my hair. They are hot, can suck your hair in without notice causing excruciating pain, and are potentially life threatening when you try to save them from drowning in any body of water. Overall, hair dryers suck at life.
Now, let's change the spin type to Positive.
Hair dryers are compact machines that always leave my sodden hair dry and fresh. They are magnificent inventions, reducing the drying time of my hair from 24 hours to 24 minutes, and they even come in all different colors!! They can dry my hair in different temperatures, including HOT, WARM, AND COOL! In conclusion, hair dryers rock my world!
See there?
Now go look at things through a different perspective, consider how you are being seen in someone else's point of view, and put a positive spin on your day.
Meanwhile, I'm going to go perspectify a curling iron.

Passionista.
Hello World.
Welcome to the blog of a 21 year old girl living over 1,000 miles away from home with too much ambition and passion for her own good. Most recently, I've been described by friends as "educated, dedicated, intoxicated (it's complicated), and sophisticated". (But where that description came from and who it went to is a WHOLE other story that deserves a blog post of its' own.)
Initially, I tried to write a list of my interests so all of my readers (currently, all zero of you!) could get an idea of what to expect, but then I came to the conclusion it would be a run on paragraph that would take at least 16.4 days to read, and another 13.6 days to process. Also, it would be complete randomness and include things like music, animals, Disney pin trading, and stunt car driving. (Yes, that's legitimately four of my interests.) Some people are dabblers, but I tend to dive head first into everything I take a slight interest in.
Anyway, I'm going to let this blog speak for itself now.
